I have them on my car. They are visually better then the black ones from bosch. And for performance, very good quality. Its a thicker diameter wire so should last a while longer then bosch and the inside where the spark plug goes seems much stronger and grips it better then the bosch wires. Very well made and a good price. Pelican ftw !!

I forgot about this thread...I returned them to Pelican for a full refund.

They would not stay clipped properly to the plugs or to the cap.

They looked good, but my car ran poorer with them than the old original wires.

Sorry dude. Others have had good luck, some have not.

I had the same problem a few years ago with my 16V 928, which uses the same engine side plug as the 944.

These were Bosch wires with "Made In China" on the plug end. I had to use a lot of force before the end would "click" onto the plug. So much force I'm sure I cam close to breaking a plug.

I pulled out my old set of Beru wires (with Beru ends) swapped them over to the new wires and tossed the "Made In China" ends.

I have a feeling these wires has the same end on them.

Yep...sounds right...they kept popping up and almost off the plugs...I had to click them down weekly at minimum.

Frustrating.

those beru ends kick my *** too - i didn't buy the clewitt ones but the custom made beru ones that paragon has - they are pricey too and it seems no matter how hard i press on them i can't get a real solid click...

Really ?? Wow I had no idea. I thought they are very good wires.... I never had any issues with them at all..... I even did an autocross with them and did not once pop up a wire. Guess its different for different ppl..... Ill have to buy new ones, ill see how the new ones are.

I just got a set of Clewett wires for my S2 and I don't think I like them. None of the connections feel secure on the plugs, distributor cap or coil. Everything seems like it could pop off while driving. The connectors, compared to the beru wires I replaced, are very flimsy and float around inside the boot. I think I will be returning them.

Had a set of clewetts on my 8v for years and they are awesome wires. We use to use them exclusively on all our 930 builds. The 16v ends are a little funky, I found you have to silicone the ends of the boots to sit properly, but once on with silicone paste, they didn't come off. Same went for the 8V plug ends. Such a tight seal that if you don't get them to slide on easily, they will back off.

I would recommend Dielectric Grease for the spark plug/boot interface. It helps them slide on, getting that positive "click", gives a great conductivity patch and virtually eliminates the chance of tearing a boot upon removal from it sticking to the side of the plug.
