Madmax,

We have not made any outlandish claims regarding our S2 or 8 valve supercharger system! The kit works and it adds 100 horsepower to the wheels at 5 psi on the S2. Final horsepower numbers checked in at 269 horsepower and 263 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels.
Reliability has not been compromised up to this point. I dont know what it will be like years from now so I wont speculate. I will say that we made a promise and we delivered. Maybe its not the Holy Grail but it is sure nice for S2 owners that want more power when an exhaust and mass-flow just doesnt cut the cheese.

Have you seen the video of the supercharged S2? It is on the discussion boards. Notice how it smokes the tires and accelerates like a wild beast? Now it is not 400+ horsepower acceleration like some of the modified 951s we built but it certainly would leave a stock S2, 951S, Boxter, etc.... in the dust;^)

As far as the A/C goes......we did not scrap it because of anything other then.... no room (well actually we think we found room to include it in the kit for those that want to keep it). Now I will stick to what I said previously..... I dont think a supercharged, high compression engine will last along time in the summer months of say, Arizonia or Texas with the A/C blasting all the time.I am not saying that it will be a grenade but it will definitely not last as long as a supercharged car without the A/C.

you know what.. its stupid *** remarks like this and others posted above that take away credibilty to hard working shop owners. you have no idea of the situation behind turbo tims shipping, johns relocation, or garritys packaging. these people are hard working and they are here to help make the porsche community a better place. these are the top vendors in the US that you are critisizing and if it wasnt for them, many people would not have the parts that they do on their cars. if you dont know the whole situation and have nothing to do with it, then please, and i repeat PLEASE:

Hey Shaun -

Everyone has the right and ability to voice their opinion. You, like others this board, run to back up your favorite tuner when they had issues with another party. We all know you have your nose in John's ***. That is your deal. You can back him tooth and nail buy telling others not to talk bad about him, but don't be a ***** when he does something wrong. Funny, I don't hear him on here defending the situation, but when he has a hotrod part he needs to move off the shelf, BOY OH BOY we hear that.

Look in the mirror slick. I don't know how this was your conversation either.

I would like to thank Turbo Tim and Garrity for having the fortitude to face the criticism I levied and do so while showing more restraint than myself.

Tim thanks for some of the clarification on the supercharger but I think you kind of proved my point. Reliability is typically measured by future events. I understand that you cannot predict the long term effect of a super charger on a particular engine. However, there is no way that you can supercharge an engine that wasn't designed to be supercharged and expect the same longevity. You can't get something for nothing. I guess some people are willing to sacrifice hp/torque for engine life and hey, that is their choice no judgment from me. It just always "seemed" to me that you were saying, no problem SC your S2 and it should still last 150K. Is 5 psi so conservative that it is not stressing the engine much? It just seems to be an awfully large hp increase to not cause alot of stress/wear on the engine. If I was having my engine rebuilt I would definitely look into supercharging it.

As for Shaun, I think Perry drilled you right between the eyes with that one. I love how people grow "virtual *****" on the internet and tell other people to "shut the f*** up!" It makes me laugh because I know that 99% of the people saying this stuff don't have the "actual *****" to try that stuff face to face. Ah yes, the arguing over the internet special olympics pic comes to mind in this instance. <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

As for language, I don't have the cleanest language in the world but this incessant F-bomb dropping, GD this, and F that is more than a little childish. The written word is much more offensive and harsh than hearing it spoken. I now realize this as I re-read MY posts in this thread. I came off pretty hard on TT and Garrity. That is why I think they should be commended for their restraint in their replies. I was more than a little harsh in my posts. I stand by most of it, just without some of the harsher adjectives.

Regards,
Max
