Default sorry with my vague posts guys but....

when my 944 was up and running when i turned my steering wheel (in general) it would squeal. and when im driving not so much if at all. just when parallel parking or leaving a parallel parking spot.

i know there could be millions of possible ideas of what could be wrong but ideas and guesses will atleast give me a place to start.

Noise from the Steering wheel itself, or the engine area?

you're either sucking air (you have a leak and/or need to top off the fluid) into the P/S pump or your P/S pump belt is slipping. Take off the P/S pump belt to solve both of these problems. This modification will permanently fix any problems with the power steering.

And if you are due for a timing belt change but don't want to do it, just take the engine out.

It's usually a loose belt, go see how tight it is! If it is loose, tighten it with the adjuster, maybe a total of 3 minutes of work

I did a little research and that sound is actually indicative that you are in need of an LS swap.

Shouldn't be a high pitch whine. Should be either an intermittent high pitch squeal (under load)..that would indicate belt issues....OR a low to medium pitch whine (under load, even a light turning load), which would indicate Power steering pump failure, usually bearings.

damn, well to update on my cars issues. i have discovered a brake fluid leak from the clutch area (probably the clutch to master clutch hose, or the master to slave hose) so i bought new master and slave and timing belt. bought to buy the balance shaft belt and the two hoses

just need to get my car to the mexicans house
