So, let me see I am reading this correctly, When YOU drive your car you get an annoying high pitched squeal somewhere behind the steering wheel?

you dont turn the wheel to much when your haulin ***, so it wouldnt make the noise unless your parking, u-turning, etc.

when you get your car running, tighten the belt, if that doesnt help, swap the pump from your parts car (unless you sold it). and if that all fails, convert to manual.

I converted to a manual rack, and while I am happy with it, it would have been fine to just keep the old power rack and plug it. The hassle of finding the parts, and the fact that there really aren't many intermediate shafts in good condition out there for the manual rack, I don't think the turning ratio is that much better to warrant the hassle.
