RS 2.7:
Actually, I could use some help. O2 sensor for a 1984. I assume it is a single wire unit. There appears to be a connector of some kind; if I recall on the firewall that is orange in color (it's 11 pm and I am trying to recall from memory). Is this part of the replacement item? Mine has a crack in it and I haven't the slightest idea what the part number is. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Cheers!

Bob S,
Just go to any reputable auto parts store and ask for a generic Bosch single wire 02 sensor. Cut the wire from your old one, crimp two connectors on, solder if you want to, put some heat shrink tube over the connector, and your done. Total cost - ~$15. Do not pay the rediculous price for an original Porsche 02 sensor!

Thanks Joel..
I haven't been able to "open the hood" since I first posted on this, but it is that damned "connector" on the firewall at the rear of the engine. When I install the generic unit, can I eliminate it? It has a crack in it (if memory serves, it is ceramic)
Thanks again
