Unhappy Glove box lock

Where the heck is it? It was there when I pull my wallet out last night but now its gone. I just spent the last hour fustrated, looking for the center cylinder locking mechanism for the glove box. It must have popped out when I unlock the compartment and now its lost! How in the heck am I suppose to get in there? I tried unscrewing the screws underneath hoping the door would drop but that didn't work. Any suggestion?

I feel like raming my Corona in the bloodly hole! What puzzles me the most is...... where's the locking cylinder?. I've been tracing my steps on my hands and knees looking for the dam thing. I must look like a drunk to all my neighbours! It's Canada Day and the fireworks are blazing tonight, except for me who's fuming.

If you locked your doors after it will negate this comment.

could it have stayed on the end of the key and fallen off out side of the car?

The would be thief must be a fool. The cassette box had eighteen dollars there but a stick of Wrigleys is missing. I'm calling the cops! APB to a gum chewing suspect with a one inch protrusion in his pocket.

deepice,
That's the scenario I was figuring too, that's why I was on my hands and knees. What are chances of the cylinder falling from my key into the glove box before I closed it shut? The question remains.... how do I get the box open!!!!!

I have a solution maby,

I have my dash out now and if you remove the plastic trim it will exspose the screws that hold the lock to the frame of the dash
