motor mounts are custom made, it's a tubular upright at a compound angle going to a solid mount on the engine (from the original mount point on the crossmember)

My opinion (if it matters) is that while the car is down, buy the afore-offered $400 turbo trans now and install. I guarantee the 944 trans will blow and if you do it now you can at least re-sell it for some cash while it still works. Waiting till after you blow it up is really false economy. Good luck with the project!

I ask because I am doing this. Had my wife's odyssey transmission not *&(*^(%&(&*^, I would have one in hand. Thanks honda, you let a known issue continue without a warning or recall. They cover it up to 100k. Hers was @ 103k.
Sorry, back to fun stuff.

We got a letter about the trans issue on our Odyssey. Ours was over the limit, but annoy the dealership enough and it gets done! Good Luck.

like i said, i'm going to take it easy until i have enough money to buy one...i'm not saying that i don't want to spend the money, i'm saying i don't even have that kind of money left over from the parts i've bought recently. I have a spare 944 n/a transmission that i can throw in if this one blows, that'll hopefully give me a few more months...i'm easy on my car anyways, and i'll probably be even easier on it for the first few hundred miles when i'm breaking in the engine..

Motor Mount and Coolant Crossover Pictures
Well, the fittings my dad bought when right in with no problems, and they're all hooked up nicely to the coolant tank. The motor mounts are done with paint (high heat engine paint) and are installed and the engine is sitting pretty with no hoist holding it!
and yes, i will be replacing those nasty steering rack boots shortly.....

they're solid as a rock, the pictures make them look pretty small, but they are thick steel and welded by a union steel worker...they should hold up just fine
