Falken Azenis, we ran them last year and they were in decent shape at the end of the weekend. They are not the best in the rain, but we have a LSD so that should help a bit:

When is it? How long will it be? Is there a cost of attendance?

Sorry for all the questions.

April 4th and 5th

16 Total hours I think (we don't run at night)

I don't think you need to pay to watch, last year there were a lot of locals who came, and by a lot I mean couple hundred maybe?

That Miata is beautiful. We finished second in a jetta last year at the Detroitish race and in about a month we are starting in on a 944 for the October LeMons at Nelsons Ledges. Should be a good time as we will run a full 24 hr race. Good luck next week to all the teams running.

I know the guys from Team Integrenaders. They're from my local club.

They had the car out at VIR-S last weekend testing it if that tells you anything.

You will need to call the track. Here it was $20 per day or $30 for the weekend.

I just found out about the whole Lemons racing thing. I'm a huge fan and will be putting together a car for it in the near future. I'm also a big fan of how the fans can vote for a car to be destroyed. I thought about doing a worn out 944 but realized any car with a Porsche badge out there is probably liable to be destroyed. The search is on for a fox body with a manual...

At Lemons in Texes there were 4 944s. My team has the same fear that our 944 will stand out but honestly, if you buy a 944 for 500 it looks like garbage anyways and there isn't a whole lot of attention drawn to you. I picked mine up for $400 with a burnt engine. It should be fun trying to fix that whole mess....

You make a good point. I found one locally that was around $500 but hasn't run in a few years. We thought we'd just help "crap" it up.

How did your 944 do? What cars did well out there?

I haven't built my 944 yet, I only picked it up. I will start building it in about a month. I don't know how the other cars finished but here's the list....

Reliability trumps lap times - by a lot. Staying out on the track circulating instead of serving penalities is the way to do well.

Have a look at http://jalopnik.com/5163919/the-top-...ours-of-lemons . It has pictures of the top finishes of our race with their best lap times. From that, you can get a feel for what types of cars lasted and their relative speed.

I second that, the cleanest cars at the end of the second day were the ones who were leading. We suffered a broken wheel bearing and a broken ball joint each time costing us about 15 min off the track. We had only one penalty that did cost us 30 min due to a car turning into my line and me "punting" him out of my way. It was good enough for second and our car still looked pretty when it was all said and done. Reliability is priority number one for this year, not horsepower. Also if you do plan to do this, it's not a bad idea to have a whole boat load of spare parts on hand at the race or even a parts car.

i am also doing the Lemons this year but later up in cleveland at Nelson Ledges- i bought a 944 n/a for 500 with new shocks, newer clutch, runs and drives- just has some body damage on the drivers side. More pics to come when i get time to actually work on it.
