Hey Joe !

I'm using my blackberry actually. This is what is keeping me sane. I wke up at 530 and left at 6am. I've been PARKED at the plaza since then lol.

We have the auto cross official a ring and he said he feels our pain and if we make it he will try to squeeze us in lol. And we are the only NJ participants

Have you never taken the GW to manhattan before? The whole palisades/bridge interchange is a huuuge cluster@#@.

There's another bridge across further up that's much better

Taken from the Cross Bronx on one of my many trips into NJ last year. Extremely hot and humid out, stuck in the 951 and the a/c wasnt recharged...miserable day.

I used in live in NJ and travelled from central NJ to almost every mall in the tri state area. (no not shopping - working). I'd take the Palisades Parkway to 287 to 95. Hope you made there by now.

hey guys !! i got back from my first ever auto cross event. although it was just a one day school introduction thing, i had alot of fun. i now understand why everyone likes to do them, go figure

we did two drivers ed courses, a hard 90 degree left turn, then a straight salom that was pretty long, maybe an 1/8 of a mile more or less. then a short hand side rectangle 180 degree turn (which had gravel on the inside!!) into another salom of similar distance to the first one. followed by 90 degree right hander.

the next one was a skid pad. did both directions, clock-wise and counter-clockwise. between each course, i learned different ways to brake and take a turn and to always LOOK AHEAD, and NOTHING behind you MATTERS which makes sooo much sense LOL anyways here are some pics, my friend in his MazdaSpeed3 took a video, he will upload later for me.

i actually finished 11th overall against the other guys in the actual auto-cross event.the course combined the two courses we learned in the morning class and we just did runs against each other and ourselves. i think i did decent for my first time but it was based on some kind of curve and divided in classes so it was like a set time and they added or subtracted from the other classes, not sure how that works if some can explain ....

i definantly want to do this again, of course still a novice lol. me in the 99 car LMAO. but i did get a feel for my car, and it felt very good around the solom but it did feel lose though at times when i pushed and pushed it. prob just need some minor suspension mods and tires and im sure my times will go down and the car will feel more solid. my fastest was about 76 seconds or so. the fastest of the day was the blue evo at 63 seconds O.O

and btw it was a crazy car accident on the bridge. a E-250 econoline truck rear ended an 18 wheeler...... there was crap everywhere from the car, about half the econoline was destroyed and under the truck. the two rear wheels of the truck were above the ground, on top of the hood of whats left of the econoline. it was crazy, coolant and oil and a whole mess of things on the ground for a good 200 feet or more of damage. that explains waiting for 2 hours in the plaza >_<. but non the less we gave bill stone a ring and he said to just come and he will tech us and brief us quickly which he did and we got there in time !! what a great day

also want to say thanks to bill stone and dave my instructor for telling me never to look back !! and to FCSCC for letting us do this !! thanks guys
