Of course you can buy those parts from dealer !
You will need the following parts:
Outer door handles # 944 537 661 04 & 944 537 662 04. Rose # 944 537 611 00 & 944 537 612 00.
Base # 944 537 621 00 & 944 537 622 00. Base # 944 537 631 00 & 944 537 632 00.You might need olso control lever # 944 537 671 00 & 944 537 672 00. (i used my 944 control levers).
That's all parts you will need. All other parts can be used from your 944 handles.

OK I called Bob at sunset Porsche, for a handle, rose, both gaskets and control lever it comes to $ 65.00 for each handle. He was not sure of the lock fitting. Do our 944 locks fit direct or not.

It's the direct fit.

What is the control lever? is that the trigger or whatever, that you actually squeeze to open the door? Regardless, can I use the entire inner assembly from my 951 handels w/just the outer most handle part and be done w/it? I DO realize that I will need the little silver or chrome looking bezel-like piece of trim around the key hole (a "rose"?) and gaskets... I bought the handles a LONG time ago and have been contemplating what to do about it, as they didn't come w/everything as I expected them too- I had planned to send them back, but it's been too long now, so the best I could do would be to sell them to someone else, or find a way to use them (my bnest bet if ALL I need are gaskets and "roses")???

Thanks a lot,
Robby

BTW, Ollie- how are your LED lights looking? What color did you actually go with and do you have any pices of your car?

I hope doing this piece by piece is as simple as Olli says, but from my limited experience, it isn't. Sure, you can buy the bare "door handle," the door pull (which is much different than the one on the 944), the rose, etc. But how do you easily attach the linkage and the door pull? The door pull is attched with a clinch pin that is crushed and flattened on the end, and the linkage is riveted to the bare door handle. There is repair kit 944-501-941-00 with blind rivets. I wonder if that would do this job?

That's the reason I asked this question- b/c you had said it probably wouldn't work...

so back to the real question, has anyone really done this ? For $ 130.00 and some paint I would do it in a minute. I am only pushing this as I am going to get my new aero mirrors painted soon, I could have the handles painted as well.

i have never said this handle & mirror task to be easy.I have said it's the direct fitment.I have done it.And i know many more 944 owners has done it as well.It will take time.I did my doors in one good weekend.I also cleaned & lubricated powerwindow stuff when door panels were off.It will hel if you got factory workshop manual; even PET can help if you study the diagrams. Most of the parts from old handles can be used.I bought the complete mioor set, same as Tom Pulz mentioned on his superb web site.I also bought "everything needed for handles" I bought them from Zuffenhausen, when i visited there.
