Wow, beautiful car. Hate to see you and Judson needing to sell such great examples, wish I could find the extra cash myself for your 86, it would look really nice next to my red 951! I kicked in a couple of bids to keep things moving on eBay for you anyway, good luck.

i say hold on to it, especially if you have intentions on buying another 951 w/in the up coming year. why sell a one owner car that's been well sorted and maintained to eventually buy something that may not be as well kept, higher mileage, not a car from an area that only sees sun, etc?

Dang. I should've seen this thread before I returned from OC, I had several days where I was keeping my eyes peeled for other 944s... Shucks. All I saw was 911s, boxters, cayennes, and a few older 911s (964s, 930s)

I got a guy coming sunday with a enclosed trailer. He is really serious and he just wants to look at it to make sure its nice.
Looks like he will buy it if it meets his standards.
I feel like crap, i hate to let it go but its time.
I took it for a drive yesterday and almost pulled the ebay auction when i got back home. Its going to get waxed one last time tonight when i get home and more then likely its gone sunday.
Ill keep you guys posted.

Sounds like another buyer who understands value as opposed to price.

It's good to see that there is still a reasonable market for truly nice examples -- gives people more incentive to keep theirs up. You can buy a 944 for a lot less than yours, of course, but I think the better maintained and more expensive ones like yours are far better value, on the whole.

Good luck!

I agree, there are alot of cars you can buy but they will need some work. Maybe they will look and drive fine on a test drive, but in a month or two you will start spending some money on it.
I know this car really well and the next owner is getting a good solid one.

Unless you really need the money, don't sell it.

If you are going to pay down debt, or do something like that, then yes, sell it, but the nice ones are hard to find, and you will spend more on your next one by the time you are done.

Listen to your gut. The fact that someone is willing to pay your price should tell you something, eh ?
