944 Factory Cup Car
Hi,
I purchased a factory 944 Cup car a couple of months ago. The car has been partially restored and was being set up for the 944 Cup series. My plan is to continue this route so I can occasionally race with similarly prepared cars. Ultimately, I would like to restore it to its livery/setup when raced in the Rothmans Challenge series in the 80's. This would hopefully allow me to participate in more vintage/tribute type events like Rennsport Reunion.
If anybody has any information on the series/cars and has any photos of the cars (especially interior shots), please let me know.
Also, I'm looking for a Recaro SPG with a Porsche crest. Apparently, this is the seat for that period - late 80's/early 90's.

There was an Excellence article on the Rothman's 944 Cup series maybe 10 years ago, might be able to find the back issue of that. Basic history of the Canadian N/A series and car prep.
I recall that they were delete optioned cars that were prepped by various dealerships that ran/sponsored the cars in the series. They were not factory motorsport built cars, like the later Turbo Cups. So unlikely that many had the factory P-Crest Recaro seats, unless the team purchased the seat from Porsche Motorsport.
I dont recall the years the series was run, '85-86, or '86-87? The RCTC (Rothmans Canadian Turbo Cup) Series started in '88.
