If you are looking for a super clean car with regular maintenance, good records, new clutch, recent pump/belt replacements, very clean interior, upgraded wheels/rims and possibly some other minor upgrades (3" exhaust, etc...) you are looking at ~$9-12k.

I looked really hard for a 951 in that condition a few months ago and couldn't find anything under ~8k that I wanted to even mess with (knowing that I'd have to turn around and spend $4k+...so might as well pay $12k and get a car with it all done).

If it's in that good of shape for that price - I'd get it.

Wrong question to be asking. As pointed out, some cars are going to be good deals at $20K, some are going to be losing propositions for free. Assess the condition, then do the numbers -- no other rational way to approach it.

Dan,

Is that Jim and Jackie Foster's old car? That's a fantastic deal if so -- that was a super nice car! If someone wants to get into a 951, they should jump on that.

If the interior and exterior is in very good to excellent shape and it is mechanically sound (take to a certified Porsche or TRUSTED mechanic with Porsche experience) then it is a steal beyond words.

50k in near perfect condition = $9k-12k
