Is there a set rule for how many pins my eprom chip has based on make/model/year? I have a 1985.5 944 NA..would this fit or is mine a 24 pin?

Thanks for the info.

85.6-87 = 24 pin
88-UP = 28 pin

However, there are actually three different 944NA. The 88 and 89 are different engines than the 85.5-87, so I have three different chip products, and working on the 4th, for the 83-early 85 to work with a converted DME.

Russell

Hey Camerone,

The 877 number is dead right now, it's vonage and not working nor forwarding my calls. I can't even log onto that account to check my messages at the moment. The best number to reach me on now is 518-210-2355.

Your board will be going out Monday or Tuesday, more likely Monday.

Regards,
Russell

Russell,

Don't want to take a dump on the OP's thread, but was curious - which is better if I have some general chip questions - your phone number or your e-mail?

Either, though I have had some problems with email since I moved my servers back to NY. I'm also checking maxhpkit@gmail.com as well if you want to send something there. But another method that always works is the contact form on the main site. When you open http://www.maxhpkit.com there is a Contact Us link at the top, this always works. The phone listed above is my personal line, and it rings pretty much all day long every day. So if I don't pick up you have to leave a message. If you leave a message you WILL get a call back, if you do not, I'll never know you called.

Regards,
Russell

To anyone who purchases this chip from Jonh,

This chip will work in either a 88 944NA or 924S, whom ever purchases it will receive support as if they bought it new from MAXhpkit.com, including instructions and upgrade path.

Regards,
Russell

russell,
i bought the 944 na chip about two or three months ago, are there any updates? i like it but it felt similar in performance to my wilk chip. is there a charge when you upgrade the chip? i was hoping for a bit more performance than advertized. Anything New???
thanks,
ernest

Thanks Ernest for hijacking my thread with your bitchin, appreciate it. As for the chip, I have actually dyno'd the chip and it does make power as advertised. I've actually dyno'd a LOT of changes to the NA motor and this is one that actually worked. Guess what, there is no magic 20hp mod, if you want a hotter chip you have to run lots of timing advance and use really good gas. If you want a chip that improves midrange hp/tq and you can still fill up at piggly wiggly this is the best I've found. Sorry to go off on you but I felt like you really did a good job killing a for sale thread and a good product.

maybe you should have put your for sale in the classifieds.
there is nothing wrong with the chip, it works quite well and certainly better than the oem. i am sorry that you see this as a hijack. i saw russell was on the thread and i just wanted to know if there were updates.

as in regards to selling your chip - at that price no one can go wrong!! it is a DRAMATIC improvement to the running of the engine. I highly recommend it.

Yes, it does not give 20% more power but the feel it gives is drastic. I always want more. we all do.
