Yep... they were the N/A mini's but they had all of the dealer performance option stuff on em.... cool driving scenes.... Personally I like the old school mini driven by the chick in the begining the best!

I haven't seen the new one, but the original is in my top 10.
It's not for the squeamish though - a Lamborghini Muira (!), E-Type Jaguar, and an Aston Martin DB5 are all trashed on camera. That part is too painful to watch, but the rest is cool - Michael Caine at his finest!

Nothing could even get close to the original. (sorry, but IMHO, not even Le Mans, and I'm a HUGE Stevo fan)
BTW, they purposefully left the original open at the end for a sequel. The problem was, ten years and god knows haow many scripts later, they decided that perfection couldn't be bettered!
You've just got to love that film...... "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!" Classic!

alot of the scenes with the minis were filmed with electric versions. All the scenes in the subway were electric cars because the city wouldnt let them have combustion engines under ground and because a norman one woudl be way to heavy to make it down the stairs alive. i saw it on a sneek peek show that was on HBO a month or so ago.
