May 16th- 1st annual poker run (Richmond-Va. Beach-Hampton) for those that are unfamaliar with a "poker run" here is a descrip:
-You have 5 cities, usually about an hour apart, with a Hooters (or whatever) in each one.
-You begin at Hooters #1 and get a card, then proceed to #2 and get another card, then proceed to #3 etc....
-At the last stop (your fifth card), you see who has the best poker hand of the group. That guy wins the pot (around $250.00)
The one with the fastest overall time gets a wild card. The slowest overall time a $20 penalty. 3 of the 5 legs (no pun intended) are routed on unfamaliar backroads using a provided map (rally style). However, you must arrive in the pre-determined parameters....meaning to quick and you are also penalized. This is to keep people from driving like absolute maniacs.
I may have made that sound more complicated than it need be...it is pretty simple. You get a good spirited drive....5 hooter stops....and a cash prize for being quick and lucky. Then we go check out Rennlists' own band "Fine Swiss Cheese"...then Auto-X Sunday away.
Nite of the 16th- Saddleridge (Large Rest. & Bar...well actually 5 bars
) with entertainment by Rennlists own band "Fine Swiss Cheese". Plenty of adjacent hotels, I will be more than happy to coordinate.
May 17th- Auto-X (Va. Beach)-We have reserved a PORSCHE ONLY heat. This is an moderate course, but lots of fun. And as most coming have not done AX before, no reason not to try it

There several coming from the 951 side...as far as New York and Florida, so it should be a great turn out and a killa time

you know im in as well, and if pwnmasta's car isnt running, hes got shotgun with me anyway

hmmmm I'd really almost rather just meet up with everyone and chill and check out the cars and have a good ol' time. The last thing I'll want to do after an 11 hour drive up is drive for another 5 hours. Is it possible to condense the poker run to maybe just 1 or 2 cities but have different stops within? We did this in Orlando with the bmw club and it turned out great.
Not trying to be a negative nancy or anything, but just sharing some thoughts. I'd love to go but I'll have to confirm when the date gets closer. Patrick make sure you send out a PM about a month in advance to those who show interest, I've found that works well for making sure everyone is still on the ball!
