Alright....everyone in time out.

OR

We could add wrestling to the GTG options list

One question though....you've never street raced? Really? Really? NEVER?
C'mon....in a simulator of course. I would not want to break the rules.

Now can we get back to ideas?

I am very glad that you can drive cars that **** on mine, that is awesome! Judging from the picture in your avatar you don't own any of them. I am not trying to get into a pissing match with you here, but I do nto appreciate your taking my post completely out of context and insulting me.

I understand the forum rules, and have broken none of them.

Yeah, I am a Vette guy, and damn proud of it. We are a great crowd of enthusiasts just like the 944 crowd. If you want to take a stab at Corvettes, just look up the racing history they hold. I love people who generalize, it shows such depth of character.

O, and trust me, I am not getting worked up by some 924 drivers posts on the intrawebs. I do not condone or participate in street racing, I simply posted an IDEA that it would be nice to be able to make timed runs ont he tail and it was taken out of context by you.

Have a wonderful evening, I know I will.

Have a great rest of the night.

I was referring to the two whom were arguing earlier. Please keep your homosexual tendencies in your room and away from the board. Thank you and good night.

OK Ok Ill admit it.

I drive a Toyota Supra with over 100 grand under the hood.

I street race daily in front of a school bus stop when the kids get out of school.

During school hours, I usually try to get runs in near the hospital, I LOVE it when the ambulances want to race!

I have been called out!

I'll bring my Supra to the GTG.

BMW944s sent me a really cool PM. I really should try not to be as outspocken as I have about street racing. We both took some low shots at each other, but I probably should have left it alone.
Apologies to all including BMWM3944S. I highly value the community here at rennlist.
I can't think of anyone here I would not like to have a GTG with.
Lets get this thing planned out.

Glad to hear it^^^, I thought for a moment we would have to have a cage match between you two

FYI...I have contacted a local track see about us getting for a day (renting). It is an oval, but the infield is completely paved. I have been there once for a DE and it was prety cool. The benefit is, if we rent it, we can set it up however we choose AND change it after a few runs

Thank you whalebird.

I am DEFINITELY in. Just let me know what I can do to be of assistance.

I assume we are talking spring time? The ONLY thing that could hold me back is if I am booked for photography. Other than that, count me in.

Someone should look into getting on to VIR snuggling under the wing of NASA/944cup. The 944fest, under Travis's leadership, got on to Mid Ohio in 08 this way. One of the giant hurdles of doing a GTG at a race track is the liability insurance. In some cases it is as costly as the track rental itself. NASA runs great track events and can help you guys get track access you would not have a chance for otherwise.

Before you ask, I don't know what is up for Fest 09. Ask Travis at Rennbay, he's the man now. The more requests he gets the more likely he is to do it, and the venue is up for discussion.

Just thought I'd look into this post and WOW...

Anyway, a couple of points, if you're interested in a track day VIR is the best track in the Mid Atlantic. The bad news is that there are no available weekends and it is very expensive (+ $9k/day). It might be available during the weekday though.

Someone mentioned the 928 guys GTG in the mountains of western NC and I thought I'd mention that there is also the largest Boxter gathering inthe US that happens every late May / Early June. It's called the Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (www.brbs.org). About 100 cars and they take over the little town of Blowing Rock. Great roads there along the Parkway and Grandfather Mt. but no racetrack...

My point exactly. NASA has the track, but has extended an invitation to run groups of 944s within their system. Instead of the GTG having to gather $9k+ a day just for track time, instead you can have each guy pony up to NASA the 250 or 300 and get on track together. This conversation with NASA started as a 944fest merger, but these guys run DE's that teach you to progress into racing and they are interested in filling their ranks.

Trust me, getting a bunch of car guys together and renting a track is NOT easy. I know. You need the wing of a bigger, insured group to make it possible and help them help you.
