....OR you have a working relationship with those that own a track. Langley Speedway was the track I was referring to. And although it is an oval the infield is a continous pave from the embankments and wide open. It allows for some interesting configs. Smallish but pretty fun. They run DE's there as well as their bread ad better stock classes. IIRC on the NASA website they have a video of a DE there, or they used to. Insurance waivers are required by each participant as well as their own safety gear.
However, it seems that about 65% of the respondents do not care for (or have a preference I should say) for track time. We shall see.
Anyway, a couple of points, if you're interested in a track day VIR is the best track in the Mid Atlantic. The bad news is that there are no available weekends and it is very expensive (+ $9k/day). QUOTE]
My point exactly. NASA has the track, but has extended an invitation to run groups of 944s within their system. Instead of the GTG having to gather $9k+ a day just for track time, instead you can have each guy pony up to NASA the 250 or 300 and get on track together. This conversation with NASA started as a 944fest merger, but these guys run DE's that teach you to progress into racing and they are interested in filling their ranks.
Trust me, getting a bunch of car guys together and renting a track is NOT easy. I know. You need the wing of a bigger, insured group to make it possible and help them help you.

NASA MA did some autocrosses at Langley last year not sure about DE.

I had no idea about the BRBS event in Blowing Rock. I will have to visit that. Great Idea. They support lodging at the Mast Farm Inn. The gut that owns that place started Club Ferdinand. Google and chack it out.

I also think South Jersey would be good. I think it would be good as far as concentration of Rennlisters instead of being more geographically central. I'm guessing there are more people above DC than below DC
Maybe all interested Rennlisters can post their zip code and someone can post the distribution of Rennlisters as pins on a map.
