Angry 14 bolts, four screws, and the belly pan to get the front spoiler off?

I took off my front spoiler thing for it to be coated with bed liner so it wont chip. Anyway, I read somewhere it only took four bolts to get the damn thing off. I was in for a shock! Did I really have to take off fourteen bolts, four screws, and the belly pan just to get off the spoiler?

I tried installing my bumper cover last night and broke the headlight washer's T-piece and now I have to wait until I can get a replacement. Be glad you don't have a bumper cover and headlight washers.

Small price to pay for extremely better looks, no?

Haha, thanks for clearing this up for me guys.

When I put it back on, what type of sealant should I use on the edges so it doesn't rattle?

No, it didn't rattle. But I herd somewhere that they just use some sealant to seal it. When I took all the bolts it didn't just fall off, I had to pull it apart from the sticky stuff.

Again, 944 n/a, but there were rubber gaskets between the fiberglass and body, with a metal strip below the fiberglass (to bolt through). I'd be hesitant to put any kind of sealant in there, but I bet getting a roll of that cut-your-own gasket material and making a piece couldn't hurt a bit in a situation like that.

ok. Last time I changed the oil I had 14 belly pan bolts (10mm head w T30). Changed oil last night & I'm down to 12. The 958 TT had been to the dealer twice in between for service (turbos & new plugs). Where can I buy replacement belly pan bolts?

Ok, I found someone at Pelican parts to answer my belly pan bolt question, if anyone is interested: N91-034-501-VAG $1.44 each.

Well, yeah. It's a Porsche. It has more screws than it could possibly need, but on the up-side, it works?

My guess is you're lucky there are still 14 screws on your car. I have about 8 on mine and I'm looking for replacements. It could be worse

It is what I call "retarded Porsche engineering". There is a bit of that in the 944. In the 928, the clutch drops out without having to take out the transmission. They could have learned lots by taking a Toyota apart in the 80s.
