I had a busy day today... I got to work more on my hood.

Here are some pictures from where I left off. (After the pictures is a cool video showing how I epoxied the latches on.)

And, here's the video - you'll see my project manager's older brother performing QC (quality control). (He doesn't like the noise of the air compressor.)

A little more progress, for those interested:

Latch mounting complete, now the hood's off to the paint shop.

Very nice! BTW: Thanks for the suggestion about auto craft, I'm dropping the truck off there today!

I got the hood back from the body guy today. Just put a prop rod on and got it on the car here are a few pics.

Note: I haven't done the final fitment or adjusting yet - so don't comment on the gaps!

So did he paint over the hinges or is that painted masking tape on the hinges?

From Sunset Porsche - $15 (there's a rubber grommet and a clip, too. I'll see if I can dig up the p/n's.)

The hood was painted off the car (I assume you mean the hood hinges?)

Ahh, they're a little bluish on the inside when they're opened because the body guy used a blue polish. They'll be closed most of the time!

Very impressive work Van, any more picture of the hood prop (where it mounts to body) and how it lays with the hood shut? I need to repaint my hood and want to add heat extraction vents on both sides. Now seeing how good the IFC hood fitment is i think i may go this route instead and use the same method for hood latching also.

BTW, here is the part # for the hood prop and rubber piece

Yep, those are the p/n's. You also need: 431.823.397 - this is the little metal clip that holds the rod onto the hood when the hood is closed.

I had to fabricate the mount that's on the body.

I'll upload more pictures later today.
