Easy to do and well worth it for a track car, and it can be done with zero fiberglass/lexan parts (but just about everything else has to go).

Be glad it ways 20 pounds. Its mainly because of the reinforcement which really ends up making it a quality fiberglass part. That is clearly going to be more sturdy than my fiberglass rear bumper. I spend $500 repair all the little dents on my hood. Installing a fiberglass rear bumper and deleting the spare did not help my weight ratio. After seeing the under side of this hood I wish I would have bought one.

Nice looking LT1 - thanks for sharing and comparing it to the IFC one. I guess they're closer to "apples and apples" than I thought.

P.s. You have some real fender flares on that car!

The fit is great so far. I will know more once its bolted to the hinges.

Yeah theyre pretty close except that yours has a center brace and mine does not. I think Im going to follow you with the aerocatch things. The fenders are simple 2" wider from Gt-racing as well as the rears.

Cool, I'm planning on making the pin mounts bolt to the headlight motor brackets. This will move the pins in a little from the corners, and in past the front lip - but should be straight forward mounting-wise.

hey LT1 - looks like your hood has a slightly better fit, atleast just from first pics Van posted (haven't checked the rest of the thread, maybe there was an update?)

but maybe hood is made to fit better with their wide fender kit (thats what you have right)?

anyways, looks like a great mod! I'll need to start buying things to update everything on my car and get it ready for paint; but I'm going to make sure I have everything first

So, I have an update and thought you'd like to see the progress.

Here's my project manager showing me where the latches will go:

Drilling holes for the pins:

Looking at the pin from the underside (headlights removed):

Making a mount on the headlight motor brackets:

My welded up pin mounts:

Hole cut for latch:

Latch in place (closed):

Latch in place (open):

That is an option when you order it from IFC - so are the hinge mounting points, in case you want to mount it with clips at all 4 corners.

When I ordered it, I elected not to include it (to save a little weight and because I want only exterior latching.)
