What is this S2 worth?
I getting an itch to get an S2 for the street and came across this one and was wondering what a GOOD price would be...
I don't know anything about the maintenance history at this point. It has 98K on it. It a shade of blue I'm not familiar with and has a linnen interior.
"This car handles like a dream! I drive on back winding country roads and this car takes those turns like it was made for them. The interior is blue and white--all original including the paint. Blaupunkt stereo system. Hatch back. sun roof. All manuals and a cover. 3-owner vehicle, garage kept. The only feature not working is the A/C."

I see it has VA tags...where is it? The question I have for a street car is "what's wrong with the a/c?" My n/a's a/c was broken, but works well on my S2. It'd be hard to have a year round street car without it. That's a nice looking car, get some photos of the inside. Linen isn't bad, but it's hard to keep clean, especially the carpet.
Market sucks right know, including this one, I know of 3 S2s for sale. I'd offer $8K once you figure out what's wrong with the a/c.

That color is probably Baltic Blue. Appears to be Marine Blue/Linen interior? Looks VERY similar to mine, which I just purchased. Paint on the front is in better shape than mine, mine has some rock chips. Want to know more about mine - maint records, condition, what I paid? Shoot me a PM.

Baltic/full marine or Baltic/full linen seem more common than the marine/linen combo.
Chads996's alpine white S2 (that he's stripping into a race car) had a full marine blue interior. There's another guy here in Portland that has a baltic exterior with a full linen interior.

for purpose of benchmarking, I paid another lister $5k for my 1991 S2 about 3 years ago with 191,000 miles on it. Stupidly no PPI so I spent another $6k+ to get it in top mechanical shape. That car looks like a 9 on the outside...if that's the case then mine is probably a 7. Interior of mine is close to perfect...no dash cracks, all the electrical stuff works except...nope..no AC.

Eddie,
I paid $6500 for my 89 S2 in Aug 2007. It had 115K miles at the time, condition as follows: Exterior 7.5 - 8. Interior 8.5 Everything on the car worked including A/C and sunroof, so it needed nothing. PO had all service records since the car had 30k miles on it. The only thing I have done is replace the cam chain tensioner as that had never been done.
Looks like a nice car. Good luck!

i sold my 90 S2 with 73k miles, new clutch job as in 2k miles, M030 shocks, no dash cracks, excellent seats, etc. two sets of rims, 90% michelin pilot sport a/s tires, full records from new, belts & wp about 10k ago and after trying real hard to sell it here and on ebay got a little over 8k.
Oh, a quarter panel (but not the piece between the taillights) was replaced at one point in its life. so that probably knocked abotu 5k off the value - right?

The miles are very reasonable and exterior looks sharp. Try to get a PPI, obviously. If the PPI is ok, I'd guess $7.0 - 8.0 K. Tough to say how much the a/c problem should discount the price. It could just be the famous $2 clip failure, so how much to use it in negotiation depends if the current owner knows this stuff.

In 89 the color was called 'Dove Blue' but the code (and color) is the same as Baltic, LM5P. Great car, great color. I'd say it's worth between $7k and $10k depending on the condition and maintenance. 'Everything works' does not mean it's not in need or abused.
