Post motor mounts.

Changed them for the first time last night. Wasn't bad at all. Did it on my 84. The right side had already been updated to the new style, but the left side appeared to have the original in it. I also took Predator's advice(thanks Scott) and instead of taking the control arms loose, just used a long wrench and took the bottom bolt off. Kind of tricky getting it back on, but lucky, I have nimble fingers. Made a huge difference in how my car felt and drove. To all who have put it off thinking it was some kind of great ordeal, it isn't. I did mine in 3 hrs. It was really pretty simple. I also didn't take the cross member out. Just took the bolts almost all the way out and that gave me enough room.

Good job! I'll be doing mine again this summer, still debating if I should put the Turbo mounts on again. Mine have about 50k miles on them right now. EEEK!

Is 50k a lot for Turbo mounts? I thought these were supposed to last forever...

Robert,

What else would you go with if not Turbo mounts? I think the only factory mounts available anymore are the updated or turbo type.

Trem,

My original mounts lasted about 14 and roughly 100K miles before the one under the exhaust comletely collapsed. The cheap aftermarket style I used as replacements lasted less than a year.

I really don't like the vibration from the turbo type. I'd like to look into a different application.

The "Turbo" type is the only one available new (you may find NOS original somewhere though). They are the best for restoring the original feel - any other replacements are even more harsh (to last longer).

You could try water balloons

Sure, and you can adjust the ride quality depending on whether you have a picture of Ziggy or Doonesbury on the Silly Putty.
