Pulled over by TWO! police officers!
While driving through Jennings, LA today (pop. small) I was pulled over by not one but two police officers. This was a surprise as I was being extra careful to obey the speed limit. While one walked around looking at and in my car, the other checks my license, registration and insurance. After numerous questions as to where I was going, where I was coming from, why I was in Jennings when I lived in New Orleans and such, they finally asked if I knew why I was pulled over. I said no and was told "improper passing". (Improper Passing?! I hadn't passed anyone while in town.) I just looked at him and said, "The car does attract attention, doesn't it". The officer smiled, said "Yes" and let me go on my way. And here I was worried my car wasn't looking good.

They'll do that. A mess of us went past a state trooper on 71 leaving 944 Fest. He was parked aiming more towards the opposite side. Once he saw not 1, but 7 944's come by, he quickly turned around to face our direction. We were doing about 70 at the time, and since there was traffic, he had no shot.
I bet that would have been his dream!!!
Good to hear you got off. I wish we all were that lucky. Improper passing??? Sounds like that non OEM exhaust tip law they have in Canada!

I remember a Ferrari Dino, back in 1979, when I got stopped so regularly by the local traffic police, when coming home in the early hours, that I just gave one of them the keys and chatted with his buddy until the car came back. Always with a BIG smile.
Got to know the law quite well during that period of ownership. Always got a wave from them thereafter - sometimes after frightening me with their blue lights.
Wish I had it now.

Brad, I used to pass bonehead putting along in their cars in Stone Mountain Park on my road bike when I would be out there on training rides. What's with people when they get in the park, it's like there accelerator pedal fell off.
Anyway, I was driving home from my sisters house in Chagrin Fall. I drove up 422 to I-271 and headed north to the Chagrin BLVD exit. As I sit at the light this swarm of cop cars starts buzzing around. I turn left onto Chagrin and stop at a light at Richmond (bear with me on the street names). Still with the cop cars buzzing around. I figure to myself they must be after someone. Well, I have to turn onto Richmond and there is one car in front of me. When the light turns green we both turn right and a police car come up on us with the blues flashing so we both pull over to let him by. Well, I did at least. The person in front of me speeds off and stops up the road a ways were another police car is waiting. Holy crap, they were after me!!! So I whip out my license and insurance and wait for the officers to walk up to the car. One walks up the right side, one hand on pistol, the other flashing a light in the car. The other officer stops at the C pillar and starts quizzing me about were I had come from. I say Chagrin. He says I know that, where are you coming from. I again say Chagrin, not thinking about the fact that he thinks I am messing with him since I just pulled off of a street called Chagrin. He says something to the effect of yeah I know that but where did you come from before that, so I explain that I had just come from Chagrin Falls and the path I took and that I was heading to my house in Cleveland Heights. Finally he gets it. Well I still don't please explain why you stopped me. He asks me why I was following the car in front of me. I say I wasn't, we just happened to be going the same way. He asks why did I stop when she stopped then. I say because I wanted to let the police car with blue flashing lights get by.
Anyway. Turns out the spazz in the car in front of me had been in a road rage encounter with another car on I-271 before I even pulled onto that road. For some stupid reason she decided it was my car and called the cops on her cell and pointed me out to them. After we got that sorted the cop seemed really steamed at the gal in the car and apologized to me and let me go.
All I can figure is a black sports car was tailgating her or whatever and when she saw my black sports car she decided it must have been me.

I was pulled over once. 5 cop cars were at the scene, standing around talking about old times or something. The whole thing took about a half hour.

Got a real chuckle out of that one.
Earlier tonight I stopped to pick up my friend at the gas station and one of the local cops came up. After admiring my recently purchased car(an '83 NA, bought last Thursday), he asked if I had opened her up fully yet. Naturally, as I was speaking to an officer of the law, I skirted around the question. He then proceeded to tell me where all of the state troopers were, and that none of them were anywhere nearby(at least 50 miles away, all of them), and that I oughta go see what she could do. Looking back on it, I should've asked him to race....

I once had a cop come screaming around another car on a two lane road in town (Batavia, IL). Pulled me in the middle of the street (no where to get off - curbs) and asked for DL/ins. I was doing less than the speed limit as I had just pulled out from a side street. To say I was perplexed would be an understatement. Seems there was a twig stuck under my car He took a look at the car, at me, and then pulled the stick out. I had the feeling he just wanted to check out the chick in the Porsche. Guess he was upset to find a hen instead of a chick! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I was pulled over in Forest, MS. First Policeman told me I was cruising in the passing lane...then said his dispatch told him my plate registered to a Buick...then he got on his cell phone. Another cop comes driving up flashing lights (forcing a car off to the side of the road). This guy looked like the father from 'Waterboy' named Roberto...he looks over the car, then asks if it is front or rear engined (I am leaning on the spoiler). I just point down at the hatch and said 'trunk'. He then asks 'This thing fast? Comon nah Comon nah!' After seeing my shifter he says 'Ooooooooh boy its a standard, oooooooh boy.'
The other cop continues to tell me his dispatch is sometimes kind of 'crazy'. I'm thinking "how can anybody be more crazy than this other guy". He also tells me about some 'road trip' he is planning for the weekend...overall they took 30 mins of MY time to look at my car. At least I didnt get a cavity search!
