Cool

Michael Manning...

You are/were a "cyclisimo"?

I used to ride back in the mid 60's to early 70's. preferred 4000 metre TT and 1000 metre TT (get the pain over with quickly!). Since the closest track was in St. Louis in those days, most of our competition was on road or criterium circuits.

Moved to Ohio in 90 and cracked my chainstay on my road bike. Kind of got out of it while I was waiting for the framebuilder to repair it. Moved back to Georgia and spent all of my time on mtn bikes from then on.

Haven't really ridden much since I moved back to Ohio.

I've been paranoid about being pulled over by cops since I was a teenager! I was driving my dad's '75 Thunderbird, with 3 girl friends in the car, and they pulled us over just before dusk, and ran all our licenses. I asked him why he pulled me over, and he said I should have turned my lights on, it was dusk! I said now it was! Made me nervous from there on.

Then when I was driving my Ford Explorer 7 years ago, I was pulled over..for smiling at a cop! I was taught to always smile.

Anyway, he said he didn't see the new sticker in the front, and then asked me what was in my cup, alcohol? I told him it was Dr. Pepper, and he wanted a sip, he was welcome to it.

I could go on and on, but I have been pulled over like 20 times, and only twice was there ever a real reason! Damn expired tags...I don't let that happen anymore.

So that's why I always try to drive safely, heh, I don't want any marks on my driver's license!

[QB]They'll do that. A mess of us went past a state trooper on 71 leaving 944 Fest. He was parked aiming more towards the opposite side. Once he saw not 1, but 7 944's come by, he quickly turned around to face our direction. We were doing about 70 at the time, and since there was traffic, he had no shot.

I bet that would have been his dream!!!

Thanks to the Indiana and Ohio State police the 4th of July weekend. Thank you VERRRY much!! <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

I'm very good driver.. OK Ray.. Kmart definetly sucks Ray. <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

When I picked up the 944 I was stopped 3 blocks from the PO's house (Wis state line). the rest of the 400 mile trip was uneventful, as it was in ILLINOIS. All the cops are gone, our state is broke- Speed at will in Illinois now.
