Well...since I will be getting my 951 towed to its "operating room" shortly, I will need to figure out how to unstick the e-brake so I can roll it out of the driveway onto a snatcher.
The e-brake was always a bit hard to operate and took a special touch to unengage, but no amount of cursing, smacking, pulling, kicking, or playing of Michael Bolton would make the thing budge. Its stuck up in a high position and won't move.
After I get it down, how do I adjust it so it doesn't take a man's effort to set and release the brake (I let my mom borrow my car one time and I had to drive her car to the mall to undo the e-brake...that was funny). Thanks...

Micheal Bolton?!? That may be your problem right there! Sorry I can't offer any real advice, mine is broke too, just in a different way. Mine doesn't even work at all, not sure if it needs pads or is just plain broke.

On my 968 there is a adjustment at the back of the handle. You have to either take the handle or the seat out to adjust it. I used this to tighten mine. I started by taking the handbrake loose (2 bolts) but the nuts used to tighten / loosen the cable were stuck and I could not get enough access so I decided to go ahead and take the seat out. You need a 6mm allen wrench socket to take the seat out.
You can also adjust the parking brake by adjusting something on the calipers on each side, but I did not try that route.
If I pull the handle too hard on my 968 it becomes difficult to release. Sounds like you could have a similar behavior but a little tigher.

Sharky, I was playing michael bolton (that no-talent *** clown) in an attempt to frighten my car into submission (no, I didn't really play michael bolton, but it makes for an interesting story).
SpecialTool, I've had the 951 for about 3.5 years, I sold a celica all-trac last fall and bought a beater rx-7 (of which I have to replace the starter because I'm sick of push starting the thing everywhere). No fights, exploding lysol cans, none of that...but...remember my friend that was belligerent drunk and tried to fight me outside my house after I carried him out of the bar, and I ended up having to choke him until he lost conciousness? Here he is a couple of weeks ago after we replaced an axle he snapped while drag racing his integra:

Bruce, I think I'll probably have to remove my seat...looks like I have my work cut out for me.
If anybody has any other suggestions for unsticking an e-brake, let me know. Thanks.

Whilst pulling kinda up on the e-brake, try "tapping" the button in with a hammer... as in don't crack it so hard that it breaks and you really have a problem!
This should potentially release the lever down a notch and thus release some of the tension.

Taking the seat out was pretty easy, just make sure you have that 6mm hex driver and a 12" extension and you can unbolt the seat pretty quickly.
My story is at <a href="http://65.61.16.109/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4318" target="_blank">http://65.61.16.109/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4318</a>
Raj suggested this route which may be easier for you.
"Take your rear wheels off and you will see a hole in the "hat" section of your rear rotors, you need to stick a flat screwdriver in there and try to turn this star type mechanism.
The best way to do it is to remove the rotor and see which side tightens the shoes and then install the rotor back and try to do it with the rotor installed.
Make sure you don't overtighten it or you will have a hard time even getting the rotor off."

Thanks again guys. I'll try tapping the lever with a hammer, then if that doesn't work, maybe removal of the seat is in order. I'll keep you all updated...
