Default Safe to reuse this part?

I was just digging into the front of the engine to replace what I suspect will be a leaky crankshaft seal. Anyway, when I removed the balance shaft belt drive gear, it appears that the keyway is messed up. I wondering what everyone thinks - reuse or replace it. I guess the worst case is that my balance shaft timing will be off slightly.

I'm sure you can find a good one on here cheap if you're worried about it.

Yeah - I guess if its cheap enough I might replace it anyway. If anyone has one send me a PM. Thanks.

I can grab one from a junkyard for you tomorrow. I'll give it to you for my cost plus shipping. It shouldn't be more than $10 or $15. Let me know if you want me to get it.

I think it would probably be OK but why not address the issue while you can?

i think itd be fine, there looks to be enough of the original cutout left to grip the woodruff key enough. but there's alot of them out there so you may as well replace it.

A few of us on here have several of those laying around from parts engines. I'm sure you can get one for the cost of shipping.

Thanks everyone. Arash was going to look for one for me. If he strikes out, I might take one of you up on your offer.

It was too cold today to even leave the house. I sat indoors and just shivered my way through the hours. Hopefully tomorrow it will be a little warmer!

But if someone has one in-hand, it could save me a trip to UPS and save you some garage space to send yours to crooster. I will go find one unless someone else volunteers to send one.

Alright I tried 2 more junkyards and no 944s. I feel really gypped, because I usually see at least one 944 (with engine). Sorry but I guess I can't help you!

Hey - thanks for trying. I appreciate it. The car is off the road until spring so I'm in no big rush.
