Default Yeah, another oil question

Does anyone make a 10w-50 oil? I have Mobil 1, 15w-50 for winter, but the oil pressure is still not building as quick as it should on cold starts.

You should not be running 15W-50 in the winter (for a street car).
You should be running 0W-40.

yeah I'm trying to keep an oil with xx-50 because sometimes at temp with xx-40 I get lifter noise.

Just finished my winter oil change, 5w40 Rotella, used this the last couple of years as the 20w50 VR1 I run during the summer is way too sluggish on cold morning start ups.

The first number is the viscosity at temp, the second is the viscosity when cold, if xx-40 were to cause issues it would be when cold, not at temperature...You may have bigger issues.

I ran Castrol 5w-50 in my 944S for the first few years of ownership. Never driven in winter, did see sub 30 degree temps in the late fall.

It did throw a rod bearing a few years later though.....
