I don't think it would look very good on a stock 944.

Now if you have the right wheels with fat tires sticking out the back and maybe some widebody stuff, I could change my mind.

but what does a single color wrap look like compared to paint? is it a cheaper way to paint your car? is it really a paint alternative or just a way to put some fancy graphics on your car?

is that ferrari really wrapped using the same process?

I hope this Euro faze dies very soon - It is tasteless and that Carrera GT is simply criminal

How the hell the owner could have come to collect his car, stand back and say to himself - "That is stunning and well worth the money" beats me

got this response from a car wrap professional

It is more cost effective to get the vehicle painted than vinyl wrap, and will last longer. Wraps tend to last for 3-5yrs. As for that photo of the Ferrari: it is difficult to tell if it is wrapped or not due to the angle. A good installer can pull that off no problem, but I would need to see the door seams or intake area to know for sure. If I had to guess…..i would say painted.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

i might do this some day. A local vinyl company (WWW.ORIGINALGRAFFITI.COM) gave me a rough quote of $2k for a full, flat black wrap. I think i'll try doing it myself first... will post the results here, of course.

Yup, it's wrapped... look about 1/2 way down this page: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothrea...int&id=3637615

I've copied the close-ups below. The devil's in the details.

You know that is almost how I envisioned the 944 would look today if Porsche had continued with it. Too bad they did not!!
