I agree.

The best gift I got this year was being able to spend Christmas with my parents: they're up from Florida. My dad has been an interim pastor for 1/2 year at the church he pastored when I was a kid. So to celebrate Christmas in my first home with my folks and my wife was really a blessing. My dad honored my wife and I by having us light the advent candles on Christmas eve. He got all teary-eyed when he asked us to come up.

Also: a week before, it was my birthday, and my wife surprised me by having my folks come up for that! (They're an hour away).

I guess I'm just a sappy-mushy guy.
