Default Year my car was made

the previous owner told me it was an 87 but now ai found this sticker right next to the fuse box. It says the car was made an 86 should I now buy 86 parts i have always bought 87 parts?

If it was built 8/86 or later, then it is an 87 model year, and you need 87 parts.

10th number in the VIN will indicate year. G will be an 86, H will be an 87.

Exactly as drift a 944 says. F is 85 and J is 88. Offset on the 87 would be 52.3mm while the 86 would be 23.3mm. The differences are obvious.
