My old subaru used to leak fast enough it just performed a perpetual oil change. Every 5000km it lost 5L, so I just let it go. Changed the filter every 10,000km just to be safe. It had 4 thrown rod bearings when I bought it at 400,000km and I drove it to 450,000km when it would barely start any more (low compression.... for __SOME__ reason). Works on some cars, but if you pay more than $200 for a car you should probably not use a perpetual oil change
