I just put my heater core back in but couldn't get those small clips that hold the lines together on. I ended up cutting the ends off and connected the two lines with rubber hose. Has any one had any luck putting those clips on?

 

I didn't have any trouble with those clips.

 

They were built for assembly they should just pop right on. Are you sure your doing it right?
