Or so you would assume by looking at the Porsche Web site.
Check out this section of their Web site where "Every type and model and every year of manufacturer is documented in detail." It actually does give space to the 924 and 928, but the 944 and 968 are nowhere to be found.
Follow this link and click on Road Vehicles.

What a pity. Maybe the 944/968 are still too good and modern that they don't want the competition with the current offerings?

Well, these are the "classic" models. Their is also no 993 or 996. Also, notice that the 911 and 928 only go until 1983. What is more confusing is why the 959 appears there.

Tabor beat me to it, the site goes up to '83. That's the 944's first year of production so it should be there. I didn't check the 911 and 930 sections for newer models but I figured the 959 was there due to it's limited production numbers (instant classic).

and if you read what it says about "924" it says that its history/design/etc went all the way to the 1990s in production, aka the 928, they just dont feel like showing each one i guess. losers

Maybe they have a point..
The 944/968/924 models do not have a tail heavy design, they are relatively easy to work on, many parts are relatively cheap and readily available(due in part to their cousins over at Audi, I suppose), they don't have a great tendency to leak volumes, don't throw head studs on a regular basis, and (except for the 16 valve) don't have the dreaded chain tensioners and a few other idiosyncracies I am sure you guys can think of....
Cheers!!

So what is this thing with the 911 then? What "real" Porsche is that!? I thought it was a sport coupe version of a VW beetle, or something!!!

Bob, you're probably right. It's not like the 951 demonstrated the company's thinking in terms of safety (first production car with dual airbags standard) and performance (eats Corvettes for lunch) or anything, did it?
The more I think about it the more remarkable it seems that Porsche has absolutely stricken this car from it's history.
How can we help rectify this?

Well, we could probably "disown" all rear engined derivatives, stating that they do not represent original thinking, but rather stem from the original Beetle. After all, isn't that what really happened? Has the overall basic design of the 911 type actually changed in its essentials? Isn't the "modern" version of the 911 type really still a rear engined, poorly balanced vehicle that has simply received hundreds of "modifications" to overcome its basic design flaws? Would a picture of a Beetle, an early 911 and a later model taken from below seem strangely similar?
Just making a point....No matter what model one owns, there are arguments for inclusion of theirs and exclusion of most if not all others...
Cheers!!!!!

on the us version of the porsche site, there isn't a classic section, but there is a history of porsche. in the history section there are several references to the 924, 944, 928, 968 lines. history the 80s, 924, 944, 928
