Well, Guys, I don't care If the Site doesn't say anything about it. I have a quote on my sig and It was stated by the big guy himself, I think that explains it all. Who cares what people think today, as long as Ferdinand thought it, that's all that counts.

Of course, you know that the real reason the 924 made the cut, but the 944 didn't, is that us 924 owners, while perhaps a bit of a small group, are so vocal and well-organized that they made sure, by now, that they'd better not pi$$ us off.
Now if you guys had a 944 Register, you'd have a chance. Of course, PCA would never approve a 944 Register. There'd be too many cars. You'd have to have an Early 944 (83-85.5) Register, a Later 044 Register, an S register, etc...
BTW, that does raise the question - how come nobody has set one up yet??? Not like there's not enough interest... You guys really should get it lit off...

I noticed that as well.. all 944's absent- 951's I saw the 924 Turbo (no mention of 931's either?)
I checked different countries and the same applies. This is sad- or poor memory?

Was it released in Europe a year prior to US release? I have an '83 that was manufactured in '83...perhaps some were manufactured in '82 as an '83 and were just taken for what the number said? Not really concerned, I have one of the best products Porsche has ever produced, and the 944 is all that matters. It says made by Porsche on the tag...if they don't want to claim ownership of it, that's their loss.

I FOUND IT ....THEY MENTIONED THE 944!!! on the 88' 924S page!!!! Wooohhhoooo one sentence
".....including a sports running gear.
In August 1988 the 924 S handed over its role as an entry-level Porsche to the 944."

In my opion the 944 is the most excellent mother f@cker ever produced. If porsche does not want to claim responsibility for their offspring, well let them make an SUV.
And in 10 years I'm sure they will forget about it to. But in 20 years I bet their is no one restoring one, like the 20 thousand 944 owners in 2003 restoring a car from 1983!!!

Yeah, I have wondered myself if in the future anyone will bother restoring a Cayenne. I guess it's possible - if your local club adds "hauling groceries" to the autocross agenda.
