Default 931 Photoshoot (56k NO!)

Just finished painting the car and it was such a nice day I had to go take some pics. Pics were taken with a ****ty 3MP point and shoot and are unedited. I'm no pro but I think they look pretty good. Also, car was painted with rollers and rustoleum

For reference, the car looked like this just a month ago:

I don't think enough people have dial up these days to warrant the warning.

Cool car, I like the color combo

Awesome, someone else did the rustoleum job. What was the material cost, and are you pleased with the results?

Like the color. Can't believe how much shine your getting from using a roller!

+1

Can we get some details with how you did it? Did you paint all the inner parts of the doors, engine bay, and all the other bits and pieces.

That looks great. I'm not doing a Rustoleum job on this car, but I'm really interested in just how much paint prep and post-paint time and effort you had to spend on that. I've heard everything from the Rustoleum jobs being fast to taking even LONGER than using a gun to spray because of all the sanding required after the fact.

Nice! Maybe I'll see it around.

I think the car would look great with some low-profile tires.

Thanks for the comments. Total cost was around $80. I'm really satisfied with the turnout. It's still not completely done, I'm going to put a few more coats on and repolish it as the paint is super light and transparent and since you have to put it on so light there are some marks from using 600 grit on some of the early coats that you can see through the final coats. So I'm going to add a couple coats and sand with 1000 grit between them to try and get rid of them and make it super smooth.

Car took a lot of sanding prior to paint as I did a lot of body work filling dents and whatnot. Right now the car has 12 coats of paint on it, but as I said I'll probably put on about 3-4 more. I'm going to estimate I've got about 25-30 hours into the paint job. It's a lot of work but it's pretty simple. Don't have to worry about setting up a paint booth and overspray which was a plus for me as there are two other cars in the garage I didn't want to have to worry about.

Color is Rustoleum "Rich Orange".

Hood panel is straight, probably just my crappy camera. Also I have a new crest on it's way from Paragon as we speak.

As far as detail, I painted the door jams and sills. Haven't done the engine bay yet, will come down the road when I build the engine (next winter?). Also the interior is getting stripped and will probably be painted black...might go with the orange on the inside, haven't decided.

It also definitely need's lowered and new wheels...those are coming soon though, getting my 5bolt conversion and the car will be getting a carrera gt front end and flares in the spring.
