Throttle cam will shorten your pedal travel, making you feel like you have quicker response. The 944MAX chips provide real measured gains, as seen by the development dyno chart posted here:

http://forums.maxhpkit.com/viewtopic.php?t=46

I don't yet have a dyno comparison of stock vs final release version, final release was tweaked based on the last run I got in the post listed above. With a real 8-12RWHP gain across the rpm range.

Russell

Building them. The one on the left, I have 100. The one on the right... getting there...

Actually I've been playing around with different types of switch assemblies, they'll be available with the switch mounted to the board like you see here, or on a flat ribbon cable outside the DME for easy access. The hold up on that part is packaging, you can't just have a DIP switch dangling around unprotected. I have a few idea for this, but I'll hold on to those until final release.

Russell

Cool.

Also probably a stupid question for these: If you've got 87 in the tank, would it be safe to go to the high octane chip mode for a few minutes? Like if there's a good uphill road you want some extra power for?

I wouldn't advise it, especially up hill. That's the highest load, hence the highest chance of detonation. The normal 'street' chip would probably not damage anything on 87 in a short time, but prolonged running on low octane fuel with timing more aggressive than stock could cause damage over time. I would definitely not run 87 with the race chip under any circumstance.

Ah ok.
I was just wondering if it being in such a sport span of time wouldn't allow the internals to get hot enough to pre-detonate.

Thanks

hmmm....what would that gain me performance wise? what else would I have to do to drive the car with it?

I can't really quote you exact performance gains over what you have now, probably another 8RWHP. You would have to run at least 93 octane, but can make 100 octane version if you have that available. Everything will wear out quicker, fuel will cost more...

So much for being a salesman...

Russell

'Street' chips 91 or better, 'Race' chips 93 or better.

I'm not sure what you are asking on that last part.
