Some sort of impact drill seems to be a common suggestion for suspension work, as the old hardware can be a pain to remove. Replacing as many old bushings as you can is also a good idea. I took a look at the sway bar bushings on the S2 I bought a month ago, and a couple of them are in pretty bad shape.

+1 on the impact gun. I picked one up when I was doing my torsion bars. Made putting everything back together and taking it apart about x1000 faster. You will need to drop the rear susp. probably 2-3 times to get the ride height set right but once you drop/raise it once its really not that hard to do again. (45 min)

I suggest 2-3 jacks for raising the whole assembly back up into place if you go that route and drop the whole thing. You will probably need to disconnect the rear brake lines when you do it this way so have some available. Oh and as long as you are in there you might as well check all of the bearings/mounts/bushings back there and replace/upgrade as necessary. I didn't do this b/c I had already spent 2k and I regret it now after getting a $300 alignment.

I've got a compressor and full set of impact tools. Not a problem.

Well, did them tonite... From lifting it, to setting it back down to check ride height it took 1 hour 45 minutes... Keep in mind that doesnt include checking and setting ride height. For the second time i got my ride height just about perfect, but need to touch it up with the ride heigh adjusmtments.

Mark, you are "The Man". You didn't forget any bolts or anything, did you?

No!!! Those werent necessary... I went above and beyond... I lightened your car... Oh and just so you know your car came to me at 25 1/4 inch to the wheel arch, and is now sitting at exactly 24 inches... tire is slightly tucked into the wheel well... Just barely... Just need to knock out the alignment tomorrow...

Fantastic! I have the utmost faith that you only left out the unnecessary bolts.

Do you still have this? If so, I'd also appreciate a copy emailed to conan at maxerboy dot net. I'm very interested in doing this since my 944 isn't a street car anymore. I need to reindex the rear ride height and I'll do anything that speeds the process up.

Likewise, I would be interested in getting a email of it to mzman888 [at] yahoo [dot] com

Also, does anyone have the specs on the stock T-bars? I need to know the mm for the Clarkes Garage Equation.

Also, whats the purpose of Indexing? What does this do? Arent we finished after the ride-height is set?
