Default Group Buy for Torsion Bar Carrier Billet Upper Mounts - SORRY SOLD OUT - CLOSED

I have managed to organize a production run of upper billet torsion bar mounts by Fastech Racing.

These are a popular upgrade for both street 944's and a must for tracked cars. They usually sell for over $200/pr from other suppliers.

Fastech Racing stopped making them a while ago but they have agreed to do a small production run (minimum 10) in November if I can get a group buy together.

I have negotiated the price to $90/pair + shipping for the black anodized version.

Stan at Fastech has been very helpful in agreeing to do this run and Randy V has agreed to the group buy here on Rennlist - thank you.

Post here if you are interested. When I get a minimum of ten names I shall post payment details. Payment will be by Paypal directly to Fastech.

Just to make it clear, this is a pre-payment group buy. Payment is required this month for delivery some time in November.

For those who don't know, they look like this:

Mike

I'll let this run for ten days to give everyone a chance, so payment will be due Fri Oct 24 I've also asked Stan to give me a flat-rate shipping price.

Further Info: These upper solid mounts hold the torsion tube to the chassis. The original factory rubber mounts allow the chassis to move with relation to the suspension and decrease rear stability.

Sort of a moot point, but do they include the stud (1x for each mount) to mount to the torsion carrier?

Ill have to think about this. Very tempting .

The original mount uses a stud welded to a plate that is then fuzed by rubber to the main carrier. With the mount off you can actually move the stud with your fingers.

This design uses a readily available grade 8.8 M10 bolt instead (not included). So you use the original bolts and washers (7&8) to mount to the chassis and the original washer (10) together with a new M10 bolt to replace the nut (9) that attaches the tube.

I'm gonna think about that too.. I was considering replacing that when installing my rear coilovers but they looked ok. For $90 it sure is tempting..

Further info: for strength and reliability these are precision CNC machined from aerospace grade 2024-T3 aluminum (not the inferior and cheaper 6061-T6), and then black anodized for longevity.

For the techies...

2024 Aluminum:
Very strong compared to most aluminum alloys and the fatigue resistance of 2024 make it a primary choice when the application is expected to be under stress or strain for prolonged periods. It is commonly used in aerospace applications.

2024 Aluminum
Ultimate Tensile Strength, psi 70,000
Yield Strength, psi 50,000
Brinell Hardness 120
Rockwell Hardness B75

6061 Aluminum:
Ultimate Tensile Strength, psi 45,000
Yield Strength, psi 40,000
Brinell Hardness 95
Rockwell Hardness B60

I just bought a set of these off ebay and installed them on the track car with some other solid bushings. Very good product.

You may also want to think about doing at least the 4 bushings that hold the torsion carrier to the body as well. They were cheap too.
