Post Rice or nice; yellow seatbelts?

I'm putting in the ClubSport steering wheel, and have removed the wood dash kit from my Speed Yellow/Black cab. These two mods were ones I wanted to get done after the suspension upgrades. Now I'm considering putting in matching seat belts. Do I have Speed Yellow fever, or does anyone think this would be ricey. Just post 'rice' or 'nice' if you would. Thanks.

Well, since it's OEM now, it's not "techincly' rice. IMO, think it would look a bit funny. I think money would be better spent on a nice 4-point for the street or 6-pointer for the track.

I'd personally go for the understated pro look of a more subdued color. Not a big fan of yellow or any other bright colors as accessories on cars.

Unfortunatly, the import tuner world has ruined most colors/accessories/mods for the rest of the real tuners and people will always make the comments/associations.

Just my opinion

First off, MOST 4,5, or 6 point racing harnesses are not DOT approved for street use. (Something about no UV-protection and proper DOT testing).

So, if you put in yellow harnesses, you won't be able to use them (legally) on the street.

Which leaves yellow 3-point belts, which I think are a bit over the top.

My $0.42,
-Z.

I think rice, but it may work as long as you keep them clean.

BTW, what are you doing with the fine wood inserts you removed?

Nice. Of course, I'm biased. I have the factory yellow seatbelts in my Boxster S.

Do they get dirty? Not noticeably. I guess it's true that they are not as bright as they were on the day the car was new. But they're not really dirty either - they just don't have that "new" sparkle. (If anyone knows a good method for cleaning seatbelts, please chime in.)

OTOH, they really complement the exterior of the car. Passengers love 'em. They add an extra element of fun to an already fun car.

I'll try and find some photos...

Like I said, MOST racing harnesses aren't DOT. I didn't say ALL racing harnesses aren't DOT.

Just took this photo this morning....so here are the belts after 3 years and 30k miles. Like I said, they are not quite the 'retina searing yellow' they were as new, but they aren't noticeably dirty either.
