924S-944 euro bumper mod-UPDATES MAY 20/09
Well, since noone has ponied-up-the-dough, I've decided since I appear to be stuck with the wrong bumper for my car...I'll mod it to fit.
The problem with a 924S euro bumper is that it is bigger than the stock 944 steel bumper. The lower part of the bumper hits the fog light area, and its a tad wider.
So...I got the tools out, bumpers off and here I go!
I need to trim the bottom first...

Hey gang, I'm back from a dinner at my parents' home.
Here's some more progress from this afternoon...
I had to trim the inside lip of the front spoiler as the euro is wider...

intrepid...I'm installing it with the proper euro brackets, which I'll show after the test fit.
which is here...notice that the frontmost 10mm bolts that attach the spoiler to the fender rub...I'll have to adjust this area. Its hard to see from this pic. Lots of overspray from a previous paintjob...sheesh...doesn't ANYONE tape things off?!

Now that the spoiler is off...I've got some plastic welding to do to it...either that or I'll find a good used one to replace it...there's some stress cracks and a damaged right front corner which I suspect was "kissed" by someone over the car's 20 year lifetime.
Check out the spoiler repairs needed...

A buddy of mine has a bike shop and can plastic weld...I'll see what he can do with it. LOL...did you see the bondo near the side marker light...bad idea with this material.
So it looks like I'll be into a respay of bumpoer, spoiler and new clear for the front end.
Stay tuned!

I'm using a cutting blade on my 4 inch grinder...you need STEADY hands cuz it'll cut the fibreglass like a hot knife thru butter!
My utility knife cut the plastic on the spoiler with ease. The front of the car was sticking out of the garage in the sun all morning, that helped with cutting it.

I've been trying to get my beater into shape and after I fix one thing the next issue pops up... I'll probably paint the wheels sometime this winter and test mount them so I can order some spacers... but looks like the car won't be on the road again for a couple years or more, so I'll have a few more projects to tackle and share.. that is depending if my Caprice survives this winter.

xsboost...3M you say? hmm...I assume a roughed up surface will help the bonding then? Do you do BOTH sides of the crack/damage?
Have you used this stuff? how does it hold up?
