S & S2 Variocam fitment?
Hello, Does anyone have some details and/or pictures of the 968 VarioCam system? Would anyone know if it could be retro fitted to a S or and S2, a separate computer would be needed of course, but would it fit in the head in the first place.
A bit off the wall, but hey, if it worked, it would be worth it!

I know in the honda world, you can swap a VTEC head on to a non-VTEC block with minimal modifications. perhaps the same is true for the variocam heads. It seems like you would need the head, the DME and all the needed sensors. Sounds cool though. I wish I could do it to an 8V.

The Variocam allows for two different inlet valve settings.
This way the valve timing does not have to compromise, it can be fully optimized for both mid range torque and high end power. That is impossible with a fixed valve timing.
I have here some pictures of the 968 head with and without the variocam unit installed. I am not sure how the S and S2 head look, but i guess they do not have the brackets/holes for the Variocam unit and neither the oilpressure feed holes in that position. It might be possible to fabricate, but I dont know how much effort it would demand.

Be interesting to see if he gets much of a power increase from the addition of the variocam...I'd really hope that he does before and after dyno runs, as that sounds very cool.
