I do find it kind of humorous that he brags that he has owned "sport" cars, and then proceeds to list a bunch of "girlycars" like the MGA, TR6, the Fiat, and the Miata.
The reason he is all against HP, is because it obviously scares the **** out of him, and so he has never owned a car with one ball, much less two.
I had a buddy with a TR6, it was like screwing a fat chick. Lots of fun in the corners, but you dont want anyone to see you riding her.

I am SO GLAD you brought this to the board. I saw this last night, and was just about sick (as you put it) after reading how many little PU***'s agree w/him! This ENRAGES ME <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> I CANNOT STAND people like this! I was trying to find it again (I lost it b/c my computer shut down on me- it's having probs, like usual 
) but couldn't. I forgot about it till just now. How do we get in touch w/him or even the place that did the poll? Anyone? My computer may be missing something, but I looked around for a way to contact this SH**BAG, and couldn't find a way (during the few minutes I was able to keep my computer going. There's some more stuff on there about buying sports cars for teenagers- a mother wanted to buy her 16yr daughter a BMW roadster (Z3 or M Roadster- can't remember and don't have time to go throught it right now)- either way (Z3 or M Roadster) would be a bad idea, IMO, for a first car. The staondard 4cyl Z3 MIGHT be acceptable, but I'd still be against it personally- I think the kid would need a little less car and something less expensive, for their almost inevitable (w/as many people as there are today) wreck. I'm not even going to start on the population problem, but if it weren't for that, we wouldn't be seeing so many nutty ideas like these, AND, sports cars wouldn't be such a problem as there would be so many fewer cars on the road period...
Anyway, what's w/the "rating system" he came up with? I mean, a 993TT has ~1:8 power:weight ratio. A Viper is ~1:7.9, etc- I use the real weight (as tested) as opposed to curb weight, and average the TQ and power together. That's just the way I started doing it when reading about cars and such, a few yrs back. I suppose he didn't come up w/a formula for how much more deadly it is to run into a big heavy SUV or pick-em-up truck than it would be to hit aother carI(?). Maybe we should ban them! Any vehicle that weighs more than 4500lbs, or, any vehicle that has more than 1200lbs per wheel(?).
Anwyay, I'd like to get everyone on this list to send this guy, and any of the places he wrote to and/or tried to brain-wash w/his ridiculous thought process, a note or two, telling just how we feel...

We should track this guy down and stalk him! We'll follow him around in packs and when the road opens up, we should fly by him in a swarm at 100mph! Then we can coordinate in shifts for the next group to go out and harass him!
The guy has obviously failed all his stats and logical-thinking classes. Just looking at basic data will tell you that 75% of traffic fatalities occur at intersections (off the highway) where speed is not even a factor! EEEeeeedddiot!
You know what, this sounds like another guy at <a href="http://www.slowthehelldown.com" target="_blank">http://www.slowthehelldown.com</a> or some such lame site like that. He used Patrick Olsen's "The Crash" video to try and prove that driving fast on the track was egotistical and dangerous all around. Anyway, it was a Geocities or some such community site and enough protest from <a href="http://corner-carvers.com/forums/index.php" target="_blank">Corner-Carvers</a> got them to shut him down.

I don't mind someone having a different opinion than me, as long as it's well thought out. That guy doesn't have a clue! I HATE such irrationality. Who was it that said "irrationally based truths are much more dangerous than well reasoned errors" (or something like that)? Huxley maybe?
Danno- count me in on the driving harrassment, as long as I'm w/in a couple hundred miles
He's probably one of the many idiots who drives side by side on the freeway, whether directly beside a trucker or a regular car, keeping other's from being able to pass (endangering himself and whomever's beside him) and/or following the car in front of him w/less than a car length b/t them- I believe the vast majority of freeway accidents are caused by following too closely...

First, the TR6/TR250 was one of the design car designs EVER. I'm serious.
Second, It's guys like this who are steadily whittling away at our FREEDOM in this country, because they are as self-righteous and controlling as any Fundamentalist. No one's freedom matters to these guys, everything is a violation of their sensibilities, and a strain on the public, etc., etc.
If these guys aren't stopped, expect to see the end of motorcycles, get ready to wear helmets in convertables, and go ahead and pick out your econobox... Also, don't let your kid go outside without a rubber suit!
The scary part is that the majority of idiot Americans think this guy is reasonable. I wonder why polluting, bad-breaking, vision-imparing, dangerous SUV's aren't on his list? - Oh yeah, 'cause the "decent folks" drive them...

I would gladly write an email (as if that would sway public opinion) if I could find an email address...

I'm glad that he started picking on german cars at the beginning. That seems a bit odd to pick on cars that are designed to be driven in places where the speed limit is at least 82mph and above on the autobahn.
The germans know that sometimes you just need a little extra power out of your car. I know it has never got me into trouble having too much power, but has definitely got me out of trouble a few times.
