Default Atlanta, GA fall leaf drive?

Anyone interested in a Porsche drive this fall? I am thinking the weekend of October 18th or 25th? Maybe we could mix things up and take a different route - head out to Athens or Rome?

I'll save the smartass comment but I had to LOL when I read that. Wish I were in that area of the country. Who knows, I may be out there around that time. If so I'm in!

Dooooods, I have a great route, lots of twisty bits; great lunch stop, alternative twisty bits back. If it is dry it would be a hoot. About six hours RT, unless we take a longer lunch. If it is wet, still fun, but not much spooling...

Josh - I swear you were reading my mind!! I was about to post a message for the same thing. Let's get Emanuel (white 951 with the Can-Can interior) involved as well. I vote for the 18th as we're probably out of town on vacation the 25th.

I need to get the 951 out and put some miles on it...timing belt needs to get adjusted first.

I'm definitely up for a different route - would be fun.

Would be great to have you join us. I doubt there will be a silver rose present otherwise...

Sounds cool - usually we head up to Dahlonega and hwy 129 but your route sounds like a nice change.

LOL - I figured if I didn't hop on the stick you would. We gotta get Emanuel on the board. I was pretty impressed with his success last weekend on the rear main seal. Did it without the manual too. Had me worried when he was asking about the reference sensors

The trip includes 400 to Dahlonega, then 19 north to Turners Corner (lunch spot if still there) then 19/9/129 north to the far end of Vogel State Park -- this is some great driving -- then left, west/south on Wolf Penn Gap Rd. (other side of the park) to Suches, then left, southeast on 60 back to 19 south, right turn, heading back to Dahlonega. Two maps show the route -- look for the town names as "60" only shows up when you zoom in one more click...

Found this last time I drove all the way up to Tail of the Dragon in SC.

Lemeno!

Ian - have you bought another p-car yet? Aren't you out in the real world earning a man's pay yet? Remember you gotta have one when you get married so your wife knows about the sickness up front.

People, the 24th is my birthday, thus I won't be able to make a 25th run (also due to GT homecoming events). I also need new tires like you would not even believe, but I'm working on it.

So count me in, I'll try my best to make it. It's always fun! I miss my Porsche buddies!

I'd love to come out again and throw my 968 in the mix. Those two saturdays are booked with a beer festival and a wedding however, so I may not be able to make it. Sundays work better for me (as long as I'm not too hung over from the beerfest or wedding).
I'll keep up to date with this post and see what date yall decide on.
