Remember the Porsche shifter **** is actually a counter weight...this one looks rather..."plastic". IMO

Actually the factory lighted E36 BMW shift **** was a rather popular modification over on bimmerforums.com etc. I also think some of the higher end BMW's have it also.

So are 40lb 19" wheels on an E30. I'm not bagging on the gimmick of the light, just the idea that it serves any real purpose. I always seem to find my shifter, even at night. Each to his own. Now if that **** had an espresso spigot, now you're talking

True, no real purpose but I guess someone over the BMW factory felt the need to design ***** from the factory like this.

I made a prototype of the above about 3 years ago. It was a EL (indaglow) backlit shift pattern. I made one, put it in the car and proclaimed it as total rice. Shortly after I ditched the project.



If anyone wants the prototype.... "$119???" its all yours. Still looks goofy IMHO.

maybe so you can prove to everyone at night that you couldnt quite afford a 6-speed 968.
