Arrow Interesting lighted shift **** on ebay for 944's.....

No affiliation etc. just passing something along to anyone interested.

I ran across this on ebay. I know a lot of people ask about alternative shifters for the 944. I still prefer the stock shifter myself but this doesn't look too bad. Sort of newer Audi/VW like. I wonder how well its made.

That's a nice looking shifter. I like a little more ball to grab on top, but I really like the fact it fits our stock shift arm. I don't really care about the light, but might be cool if not too bright.

The split in the middle from **** to boot looks more like the 968 shifter I have in my 944. Although it is all one piece.

The boot would be nice for aftermarket shifters.

Not too bad looking don't know about the lighted bit. Would be better if they offered a not too bright white light version but I can see those wires chafing under there anyway. Also not sure how secure the two angled screws would hold. Still one of the nicest looking aftermarket and would suit the understated style of our cars. Thanks for sharing.

thats pretty cool actually.

id get it in either red (to match my engine, brakes, rear swaybar and transmission lol) or yellow (to go with the gauges)

now lets see if they make one in brown leather..

You're right, those wires won't last long.

Actually it looks like there are 3 screws in the picture, one above the two angled ones. I wonder if there is a fourth screw.

It would be awesome if it just lit up the number of the gear you were in... or light up the shift path when it's time to up-shift.

Or maybe a little OLED display that shows the selected gear.

And you could always sleeve the wires to protect from abrasion.

I have trouble believing anyone over 16 YO needs an illuminated map to shift correctly or know what gear you are in? Even without the lights it's not a bad looking shifter/boot. Those set screws will transmit vibration to the **** just like a Momo though.
