Where does that water come from ???
Water is coming in my sister's 944 and every time it rains there is a half of inch in the passenger side rear pit. It does'nt come from the door, i don't see any drops falling from the sunroof, the quarter seals have been changed and it does'nt come from the rear hatch. Could it come from the drain of the sunroof ???
I heard that it could happen if a hose disconnects from it. Did it happen to any of you ? There is so much water that i call it the U-Boat.

that hose could just be clogged, if it was water would pool up in that corner of the sunroof channel and eventually overflow..
just get a wire hanger straighten it out and feed it in there, maybe make a little loop on the end so you dont puncture and so you can clear bigger debris. the water should drain out into the rear wheel well

get some sealant (not silicone, the other stuff) pull the rubber on teh outside bottom of the quarter window away from the window, squeeze the sealant in there. then press the rubber against the window to seal it, especially in the front bottom corner.
then take a razor and run it along the edge of the glass by the rubber to remove the excess you just squoze.
i spent weeks trying to find it, have posts from Dec 06 of my efforts, finally traced it to the quarter window after sealing the sunroof with tape, swapping hatches (two hour drive each way, etc.) and trying just about everything.

If the car has been resprayed there is a good chance some paint has creeped down your drain lines. I had to rig up a blade to the end of a cable attached to a drill and I drilled the paint out. Sometimes Im too creative for my own good.

quarter window seals. my car would flood with water and it took me a long time to figure it out......
I was too cheap to buy new quarter window seals so I just removed them and I siliconed the class to the quarter window seal and then put it back in the car. One year later and the interior is dry.

Remove the battery and check underneath it for rust, you will see. Oh, and FYI - Porsche does not sell the battery tray area, a couple of things you can do for repair is to use a battery tray from a 996 - some work to fabricate in after rust is cut out and replaced. You can also jsut cut rusted portion out and then fabricate a piece of metal to weld in. Or, the easiest, especially if it is a smaller hole, just use fiberglass to patch once rust is removed.

put a box of silicone gel in the car in the mean time to absorb the moisture until it is fixed. otherwise mold may start when car is sealed.
my problem is the sunroof seal.
