Default knowing when it's time to hang it up

It has been years since I had my Porsche. When I finally came back from Iraq in June, low and behold, I got my Porsche 944 back running. The engine was rebuilt with 951 parts and a SFR supercharger installed. The car starts and drives at low speeds. Since the stock AFM is on, the SC maxes out the AFM dumping fuel into the system, so to counter act this, I spent the cash to got a Vitesse MAF kit, with a programmed chip for the 951 injetors, and a piggy back system, and some misc parts.

However, I am to the point where the car isn't fun anymore. I no longer get a thrill from working on it nor do I get excited in buying parts for it. I am looking to hang up this project and get rid of the car to someone who is excited to get a 944 supercharged a makeover. If anyone is interested, please email me and I will grab pics and give you a list of everything I got for the car and plans of what I was going to do. I plan on going in on Sunday to install the Vitesse kit and get it back to my home. If anyone is near the Waynesburg, PA area, let me know and I can make arrangement for you to look at the car.

Thanks,
space

hmmmm...944th post...that is weird....it seems that since I owned the car 944 has been a reoccuring number, expecially with time...everytime I look at the time, it's 944....

As for price, well, don't get me wrong, I like porsche and really want to get another one and been looking at boxsters so I figure the money from this car would be a good down payment, so I figure with the engine rebuilt, the SFR kit, and the MAF kit, and the time invested 8K is what I would like. What do you guys think, is this a resonable price? If anyone reading is interested, let me know or if someone wants to throw in their 2 cents, let me know...I rather sell it through here than ebay.

thanks,
Travis

You won't be happy with a Boxster.

The clock doesn't go to 9:68.

Life is too short to spend messing around with something that's supposed to be fun but isn't. A boxster would be a hella fun car. I always think of getting one when the projects get me down. It'd be nice to just drive sometimes....I wish I had someplace to go!

Regardless of what you do with the car, thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our country (assuming you are a Soldier...).

Nurburger,

Thanks for the reply and Yeap, I am a Soldier, been one for 10 years now...

To all,

I went and installed the MAF and Piggy back. Good news is the car starts and idles, rather high RPM, but if you rev it, the car shuts off...not sure what it is, but kind of depressing and kind of happiness. Couldn't drop a program on the piggy back since my computer doesn't have a serial port. however, the car sounds freaking mean when it does start up and run...lol.

anyhow, I know I said 8K in the post, what do you all think of a price. Here is the list of the major parts.

SFR supercharger kit - polished SC an tubing
Engine rebuilt using 951 parts,
951 injectors
951 intercooler
Vitesse MAF kit with piggy back system, MAP 3bar, and ignition module
sport techno wheels
944S tranny
951 brembo breaks (I do have the rotors, pads, etc...have to check my parents garage to get them)
Head was redone by patrick garitty (I believe that was his name)
There are some other parts too, but misc.

Anyhow, thanks I'll keep all updated on the progress...

I know you spent a ton of time, effort, and money on this car, but I just don't see anybody paying 8k for a poorly running 944. I sure hope you get it though. Do you have pics?

lol....yeah, I dont see it either, thats why I thought I ask...I can get pics if someone is interested...it a restoration car but if worst comes to worst, I may just have to part out the car maybe, sell the SC kit, tranny, MAF kit, etc...then sell the car...I figure if I did that, I'll get some cash then...I figure the main things someone would be interested in would be the SC kit, MAF and PB kits, tranny and wheels that they can move over on their car and have a spare with a rebuilt engine. if you get it a new paint and clean up the interior, then you'll have a nice looking car. Depends on what the person wants...really. I'll take anyones offer that they may want to through out there.
