Default CV Bolt Size

PET doesn't say and I couldn't come up with it searching. What size are the CV axle bolts for an '83-'85 944? Also, what is the preferred washer?

TIA, John

I bought CV bolts from paragon, you could look there to see what size they are.

Yeah, I got mine from Paragon as well. They are the funky cheeseheads - a real pain in the ***. I was going to go to a metric 6 point cap screw, but didn't know if it would be strong enough.

Exactly. I want to repack the CV's and change all the bolts, plus have spares. I just can;t find the size anywhere.

Paragon shows it as an 8X50mm.

i've bought several sets. some are standard allen, some are the cheeseheads. they are the same bolts that many VWs use. shouldn't be too hard to find them if there is an import auto store in town.
