Default who needs new TT bushings?

I went to a local machine shop to have them make me delrin TT bushings. He told me $30 each if I only wanted 4, or $20 each if I order 20 so I did order 20.

If you're interested in buying some, let me know. I only need 4 and I have 20...

$20 each plus shipping.

Arash,
I would be glad to join in on a group buy....as long as they will fit a 968. Please advice and let me know how I participate.
Thanks,
Craig

FR: Find my thread on this, I initiated a GB on these at $78.00 per set delivered. Unfortunately I lost my job where I had access to the CNC ect to make them. Feel free to contact the people from my thread. It was titled Delrin TT bushings IIRC.

Hey Doug, thanks for the info. Now that you mention it I do remember. $78 a set it slightly better than what it will be for me, I'm looking at $80 a set for me and local listers, but add another $3-5 shipping if needed. I told the shop to wait a couple days so I can see what quantity to order. If we get more than 5 people total the price will be lower than $20 each. If less, I will still buy 20 pieces and keep the extra to sell later.

BTW, nice quote! It's true, you know....

Craig, I have no first hand knowledge of the 968 TT, but I have been told the bearings and bushings are the same as for the 944. I know for fact the shaft is the same diameter, so I assume the tube is also the same diameter.

Steve, PM replied.
I'll drop off my order tomorrow and they should be ready in a week! I will use DHL for shipping, probably in a large padded packet, with the bushings themselves inside a can or tube.

Arash, check with Pauer Tuning, he wanted a set and was willing to trade for a fuel jumper line or something else that was small.

OK, an update. The bushings are ready and they came out great. I have 12 not spoken for yet! I'm not looking to make money - I order a large quantity to save money, and now I'm "passing on the savings". Please PM me.

I may need a set. My TT started making noise when I went to the airport yesterday morning. I have a spare TT, but I don't know what kind of condition the bearings are in (it has less than 100k miles on it). Where are people buying their bearings?

I should know when I get back from Ontario/LA this weekend.

Curt, this is where I got mine: http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/6006ZZ-1

Spoolin, sorry, I should have been more clear - as Michael said TT stands for torque tube. The delrin bushings are not really used due to any advantages (though they are way more durable than the stock bushings). Really, they are used because stock bushings are not available anywhere and this is the only option AFAIK. If you're lucky, the old bushings will still be intact upon disassembly, and you may reuse them with new bearings. But even if they are intact, would you ever want to redo the TT rebuild just for bushings?
